Pixel Relay

What is Pixel Relay?

Pixel Relay sends your website's conversions to Meta from a server, after removing the details Meta should not see.

Pixel Relay is a relay for the Meta Conversions API. Your website loads a small script that sends events (page views, leads, bookings, purchases) to Pixel Relay instead of straight to Meta. Pixel Relay cleans every event and delivers it to Meta from the server, so your ads can still learn from conversions without Meta receiving the sensitive parts.

What you get

  • Server-side delivery. The visitor's browser never talks to Meta. Ad blockers and browser tracking limits do not stop your conversions from arriving.
  • Sanitised events. Query strings are always dropped from page addresses, health-related words are replaced with a neutral word, and names, emails and phone numbers are hashed the way Meta requires. See What the relay removes.
  • Your own event names. Your site can send names that make sense to you, like schedule_appointment, and Pixel Relay maps them to Meta's standard events, like Lead. See Event mappings.
  • Analytics you can share. Every website gets its own analytics: visitors, page views, leads, referrers and delivery status.
  • Several sites, one dashboard. Each website has its own Meta pixel, access token, allowed domains, mappings and blocked terms.

Who it is for

Pixel Relay was built for businesses whose page addresses can reveal sensitive information, such as clinics, fertility and dental practices, therapists and other health services, and for the agencies that run their ads. It works just as well for any site that wants server-side conversions with less data leaving the site.

Not legal advice

Sanitising reduces what Meta receives. It does not decide your legal obligations. Check what applies to your business with your compliance team.
