Event mappings
Turn the event names your site sends into Meta standard events like Lead and Purchase, per website.
Your site sends names that make sense to you, like schedule_appointment or book_open_evening. Meta optimises ads for its own standard events, like Lead or Schedule. A mapping connects the two, per website.
- Step 1: On the website's page, click Mappings.
- Step 2: Type the event name your site sends, exactly as the code or plugin sends it.
- Step 3: Pick the Meta standard event it should count as.
- Step 4: Click Add mapping.
- Step 5: The mapping is live for the next event. Use the row's buttons to pause or delete it.
Add a mapping
- Open the website from Websites and click Mappings.
- Under Add a mapping, type the Site event exactly as your site sends it. Names are not case sensitive.
- Choose the Meta event.
- Click Add mapping.
It applies to the next event. Several site events can map to the same Meta event, for example schedule_appointment and book_consultation both to Lead.
Pause, delete or reset
- The pause button in a row stops a mapping without deleting it. Its events are then sent as unnamed codes.
- The bin deletes it.
- Reset to standard set replaces all of the website's mappings with the standard set below. Your own mappings are removed.
Events without a mapping
A name with no active mapping is sent to Meta as a code made from the name, like evt_a1b2c3d4. Meta cannot read anything from it, and it does not count as a conversion. If a conversion never shows up in Meta under its standard name, a missing mapping is the usual reason: check the website's Event log for the site event name and add it here.

New websites start with these, unless Add the standard event mappings was unticked:
